More Venice Beach Goodness with Gary LaVard

Lifestyle photography is a kind of photography which mainly aims to capture portraits of people in situations. What better place to do that then Venice Beach! We are huge fans of Venice Beach- as you can tell since we shoot there so often.

We met up with Gary, who is originally from Detroit. A super nice and talented dude. He's been busy filming Besties, which will soon be on Netflix. Some of his past work includes About Him and Products of the American Ghetto. It's no surprise Gary is going places.

We had the great opportunity to shoot with Madtown Collection in Malibu. We utlized yellow smoke at our location and it went amazingly with Madtown's new collection.

Volkswagen Bus in Brooklyn wih Oheni

Lifestyle photograph at it's core, it is the capturing of real life moments, natural expressions, most often candid things that just happen. It's easy and hard at the same time. For this shoot we had: Volkswagen bus, check, Brooklyn, check, and an amazing model, check - thanks Oheni!

We scoped out an awesome spot in Brooklyn and went to town. You can't tell in the photos, but it was FREEZING outside. Oheni is a champ and never even flinched.

Epic Santa Monica Sunset

We believe lifestyle photography to be one of the most honest forms of observing and capturing a moment and telling a story. We are of course there to guide models and set them up, but there's a sense of fun and rawness can burst through the frame to the viewer.

With that in mind, we set ourselves up with an amazing sunset in Santa Monica just after it rained where we were hoping for a little magic. We were in luck as the sun set the light was amazing and we made the most of it with these three. Check them out below.

New Orleans in Sparkle Pants with Shelby

Shelby is a super down to earth person- chill and says it how it is. We liked that about her. Even when we got lost on our way to see the swamp-lands, she didn't seem to mind at all. It takes a chill confident person to pull off epic sparkle pants. Shelby- we dig your style and vibe never change.
